What is a vegan sneaker?
A vegan sneaker contains no animal-derived products, whether in the upper, the sole, or the glue.
At ME.LAND, the upper is made of nylon recycled from marine plastic waste. The soles are recycled from production offcuts and plastic bottle caps. Traditional glues, often made from fish skin, are replaced by a natural, plant-based latex glue.
There are other leather alternatives made from apple, corn, or grape. For our sneakers, we made a different choice: why produce something new when it already exists?
Vegan sneakers made near Porto
Each pair is handcrafted in Felgueiras, near Porto, Portugal, by highly skilled artisans. European manufacturing ensures the protection of labor rights.
The materials are 100% European (Spain or Portugal), most often sourced within a 50 km radius of the workshop.
Each batch of recycled nylon is numbered by SEAQUAL, allowing the material to be tracked throughout the entire chain, from waste to sneaker. A blockchain ensures the traceability of every material. Packaging follows the same recycling logic: boxes, pouches, and message cards.

Evan and Vivace are low-top, unisex sneakers available in a wide range of colors. Their memory foam insoles ensure your daily comfort.
They can be worn with casual or more formal outfits. For city shoes with no animal materials, discover our vegan shoes.
How to care for vegan sneakers?
- Waterproof the sneakers before wearing them: this protects the fabric from stains and keeps your feet dry.
- Clean them with a soft, damp cloth.
- Wash the laces in the washing machine.
- For stubborn stains, ask for advice in-store: we offer FAMACO care products there.

Are ME.LAND vegan sneakers certified?
Yes. Evan and Vivace are PETA Vegan Approved for the absence of animal materials, SEAQUAL INITIATIVE for the recycling of marine plastics, and OEKO-TEX.
Do vegan sneakers contain animal-based glue?
No. They are assembled with a latex glue, natural and plant-based.
What is the difference between a vegan sneaker and a recycled sneaker?
A vegan sneaker contains no animal materials. A recycled sneaker is made from pre-existing materials. Evan and Vivace are both: free of animal materials and 100% recycled, soles and laces included.
Are vegan sneakers suitable for both women and men?
Yes, Evan and Vivace are unisex models, offered in whole sizes from 35 to 46. We manufacture in small batches: your size may not be or may no longer be available.
Is delivery free?
Yes, on orders of €80 or more, in France and Europe. Orders are prepared in approximately 3 business days, then delivered within 5 to 10 days depending on the destination. In France and neighboring countries, delivery is made to a Mondial Relay pickup point. Details can be found in our T&Cs.
