For the brand, this means recycled nylons made from marine plastic waste for the upper and recycled soles made from production scraps. At ME.LAND, we have embraced eco-responsibility, complete transparency, and authenticity towards consumers. Thus, our vegan sneakers for women or men are produced without animal glues, which are usually made from fish skin-based glue; instead, they are manufactured with a 100% natural and vegetable latex glue.
The brand is aware that there are plant-based alternatives such as apple, corn, or grape, or even the use of synthetic materials, but this implies producing anew. And it's true, why produce anew what already exists?
This ethical concern allows us to produce shoes for women and men that respect animals, but above all, eco-responsible sneakers that respect the environment and meet ethical fashion standards.
Transparency and Traceability at ME.LAND
At ME.LAND, transparency and traceability are inseparable from sustainable and ethical fashion. Each of our sneakers is made in Europe, manufactured not far from Porto, Portugal (which ensures the protection of labor rights within the EU), by highly skilled artisans. We ensure that each material is sourced within 20/50 kilometers of the factory. To ensure complete traceability, each recycled nylon is numbered by SEAQUAL to ensure monitoring throughout the entire production chain, from waste to sneaker, and thus comply with the AGEC law!
Our packaging is also environmentally friendly, including our boxes, dust bags, and message cards. 1 - Once plastic waste has been retrieved from the sea by fishermen, it is sorted and cleaned.
2 - The waste is reduced to chips or flakes so that it can be used more easily.
3 - These are then transformed into fibers ready to be woven to obtain neoprene nylons, whether woven, coated, etc.

Caring for your vegan and/or recycled sneakers begins even before you wear them. Being made of canvas, your sneakers must be waterproofed to prevent stains and keep your feet dry. To clean each material of your shoes, a soft, damp cloth is sufficient!
