RECYCLING

All our materials come from waste. Indeed, why produce again what already exists?

- All our leathers come from waste from the food industry. We have ensured the responsibility of our sourcing, as no animal should be killed for its skin or fur.

- All our nylons, whether technical, neoprene, lining, coating or woven, come from recycled ocean plastics. They are certified SEAQUAL INITIATIVE.

The SEAQUAL Initiative encourages the reduction of overfishing by compensating fishermen for lost income through the recycling of plastic waste found in the oceans. This waste is then recycled into yarn or fabric. We use it in all possible forms. The SEAQUAL label is not only a quality label but also allows for tracing all fibers used from the fisherman to the finished product. All steps are recorded under a unique number for total transparency.

SEAQUAL is above all a community dedicated to our planet and our oceans.

ME.LAND is registered under LEKO UNI: FR249018_01BOJO and REFASHION UIN: FR249018_11AUEJ. These unique identification numbers prove that ME.LAND complies with the Anti-Waste Law for a Circular Economy (AGEC) with the objective of funding waste reduction and management.

Recycling isn't limited to plastic; ME.LAND also uses new bio-based materials made from apples and soon mushrooms. Food industry waste is thus reprocessed into high-performance leather-like materials to replace animal leather.

Our latest soles are also a great example of our commitment to responsibility, as we use scraps from the production of rubber for other soles, mixed with plastic bottle cap crumbs.

Let's not forget our packaging, which is also fully recycled: cardboard for boxes or cards, and cotton for pouches.

CRAFT

We design our shoes in Montmartre, Paris, and manufacture them in Portugal.

Our sneakers are made by expert artisans with golden hands in Felgueiras (PT). Each hand is chosen for a specific purpose and each movement is made solely for comfort.

Our artisans are paid fairly. We have verified their working conditions and remuneration. Because without their expertise, we would not exist.
